Toxin-Free, DIY Deodorant Recipe

Make your own deodorant that is good for the skin, hormones & wallet.

INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)

2 tbsp arrowroot powder 

3 tbsp coconut oil

2 drops of essential oil (Optional. Avoid if you have sensitive underarms)

Small glass jar with an airtight lid

METHOD

Mix ingredients thoroughly until a firm but pliable texture.

Place in a small jar.

TIPS

The coconut oil does not need to be melted however, it is slightly soft it may make it easier to mix.

  • If the mixture is too thick, add more coconut oil.

  • Avoid use of essential oils if you have sensitive underarms.

  • The mixture may melt in warm climates. Make sure the jar’s seal is tight and, if necessary, store in the fridge to keep solid.

  • To apply, simply use your fingers by rubbing across your armpit.
